What are you visiting hours?

Answer:
Visiting hours are typically flexible to support family involvement, however,  We encourage visits during daytime and early evening hours. We do ask that visitors be mindful of residents’ care schedules, meals, and rest times. Our facility doors are locked from 7pm-7am, in which case there is a “door bell” outside the main entrance.

Can I visit anytime or do I need to schedule?

Answer:
In most cases, visits do not need to be scheduled. However, for large groups or special visits where you would like a special room for your gathering, we recommend calling ahead so we can ensure the best experience for your loved one.

What should I bring for my loved one?

Answer:
Common items include comfortable clothing, a favorite bed comforter,  labeled personal items, photos, small decorations, small furniture items, and favorite snacks (if permitted by dietary guidelines). We want your loved one to feel like they are home and surrounded by their items/memories. Please avoid bringing valuables.

How do you handle medical care?

Answer:
Residents receive 24-hour nursing care.

Our in-house Medical Director specializes in family medicine and geriatrics monitoring all long-term and rehabilitation patients. 

Will my loved one have a care plan?

Answer:
Yes! Each resident has a personalized care plan developed by an interdisciplinary team. Families are encouraged to participate in care plan meetings.

How are medications managed?

Answer:
Licensed nurses administer and monitor all medications according to physician orders. Medication reviews are conducted regularly for safety and effectiveness.

What happens in an emergency?

Answer:
In case of a medical emergency, staff respond immediately and emergency services are contacted if needed. Families are notified as soon as possible.

What activities are available?

Answer:
We offer a variety of daily activities such as games, live music, Friday happy-hour, crafts, religious services, exercise programs, and social events  to keep residents engaged and connected.

Can special diets be accommodated?

Answer:
Yes, dietary needs are carefully managed. Whether it’s medical diets, allergies, or preferences, our dietary team works to ensure safe and enjoyable meals.

How do I communicate with staff about concerns?

Answer:
We encourage open communication. Families can speak directly with nursing staff, social services, or administration at any time. We also offer scheduled care conferences.

How is laundry handled?

Answer:
Laundry services are provided. Clothing should be labeled to ensure items are returned to the correct resident.

Can my loved one leave the facility with family?

Answer:
Yes, residents may leave for outings with family as long as it is safe and approved by the care team. It’s helpful to notify staff in advance and remember to sign your loved one out at the nurses station, please.

What safety measures are in place?

Answer:
We follow strict state and federal regulations, including fall prevention, infection control, and secure environments to ensure resident safety.

How are infections and illnesses handled?

Answer:
We follow Wisconsin Department of Health guidelines for infection prevention, including monitoring, isolation precautions when necessary, and proper hygiene protocols.

Who do I contact for billing questions?

Answer:
Our business office can assist with billing, insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare questions. We’re happy to walk families through the process.

Are pets allowed to visit?

Answer:

We do allow pet visits, as long as pets are well-behaved and vaccinated. Check with staff if there are any specific guidelines.

How do you support emotional well-being?

Answer:
We provide social services, activities, spiritual support, and opportunities for connection to help residents feel comfortable and valued.
